Hospital-acquired conditions education courses are designed to provide nurses with strategies and concepts to best maintain patient safety while in their care. In 2014, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, began reducing payments to hospitals that ranked in the worst-performing quartile regarding hospital-acquired conditions. These courses will cover topics like medication errors and fall prevention to help nurses do their part in improving their hospital’s performance.
