Goals and Learning Outcomes
The purpose of this course is to provide nurses with important information about the incidence of heart disease in women, its etiology, and its risk factors. Compared to men, women have distinct cardiovascular risk and outcomes. To better improve cardiovascular health in women, it is important for nurses to understand variation in cardiovascular risks and outcomes related to diagnosis and treatments. Nurses should also be able to identify specific cardiovascular conditions that affect women disproportionally. This course will specifically discuss cardiovascular risk factors for women, risk stratification assessments, women specific cardiac conditions, treatment, and provide some explanation for the disparities in cardiovascular outcomes in women.

The goal of this course is to inform nurses about how heart disease affects women.
