Nurses continue to demonstrate dedication, resilience, and empathy. With all that they do, it’s important to acknowledge and value the profound impact they make every day.

Patient care, while fulfilling, comes with no shortage of profound challenges. And amid the current state of staffing, nurses are working harder to deliver safe and compassionate care.

“As nurses, we often expect our efforts to go unnoticed by our patients and their families, as they are under immense stress, so it is understandable,” said Cara Lunsford, RN, Vice President of Community at Relias. “This is why it’s even more important that our nurse managers and healthcare institutions step in and take the time to acknowledge personal sacrifices, the stress and trauma experienced, and the patient advocacy and care.”

Expressing gratitude toward nurses not only acknowledges their contributions but also highlights their worth. This recognition has numerous benefits, such as enhancing job satisfaction, boosting performance levels, and improving patient outcomes and experiences.

These special appreciation days, weeks, and months serve as a tribute to the value of nurses and the importance of honoring their efforts. Add the following nurse appreciation dates to your calendar, and spread the word to your colleagues, managers, leaders, and administrators about them.
