Writing From Within: Using Storytelling to Heal Burnout and Reclaim Your Why

Past Event

May 12, 2026 1-2pm EST

Hosted by Nurse.com + Capella University

Online

Nurses are trained to assess, intervene, and document, but rarely are we taught how to process the emotional weight of what we carry. Burnout, compassion fatigue, moral distress, and cumulative grief have become normalized in nursing culture. Yet research consistently shows that storytelling and narrative reflection can be powerful tools for emotional recovery, resilience, and meaning-making.

In this interactive webinar, we will explore how structured reflective writing can help nurses process difficult experiences, reconnect with their purpose, and rebuild sustainable resilience. Drawing from the Writing From Within: A Journey of Healing and Empowerment workbook participants will learn a practical, step-by-step approach to using storytelling as a tool for healing, not perfection.

This session will provide both the “why” behind burnout and the “how” of narrative healing.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify contributing factors to nurse burnout, including moral injury, emotional suppression, and chronic stress.
  2. Explain how storytelling and narrative reflection support emotional processing and resilience.
  3. Apply a structured, progressive writing framework (Beginning → Introspection → Realization → Resilience) to their own experiences.
  4. Implement practical writing techniques that can be used in under 10 minutes per day.
  5. Develop a personal action plan for sustainable emotional recovery.
