Dear Donna, I am a retired RN with experience as a coordinator of care for a home care agency. I am interested in returning to work to do UAS assessments and want to know if there is any training available for this career change. I have experience with OASIS documentation and also have a CCM certification. Wants to Learn Assessments Dear Wants to Learn Assessments, BY UAS I assume you are referring to the Uniform Assessment System in New York for Adult Day Services, assisted living facilities and more. Your background and credentials are perfectly suited to this and you should be able to make a smooth transition. The New York Department of Health governs these assessments and provides the training, which is web-based. The entire program, including coordinator requirements and training are outlined in the document "UAS-NY Transition Guide." UAS-NY has a support desk for any questions about the training. I suggest you start there. Reach them via email: [email protected] or telephone: 518-408-1021 during regular business hours. Best wishes, Donna
