I have kept this quotation close throughout my nursing career.
“Caring is the responsibility and, more importantly, the privilege of each of us. Caring is what we were born to do. When we let our hearts break, they break open, they don’t break closed. When we are present to another’s sadness or pain and do not turn away, our hearts open up remarkably and we can experience not simply the great sadness of life, but the incredible love and joy of life.”

Beautiful, thank you!

I am so very grateful for each and everyone on the front line here in Florida and New York and around our country I am greatly appreciate the nurses who have apparently done more than can everyone imagine and for the doctors who go out of the way to care for the patients in their tires hours I want each and every one of you to know that I send you my prayers and love
Bless all the people on the front lines. I am a retired RN and I wish I could be there on the front lines with all of you.
Remember God loves you.
Let your love and caring shine through to all those you are helping fight their health battles.
Be safe and always remember how much you are loved.
God bless🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
My favorite quote on this list is by Rawsi Williams.
Also loved @It is never too late…” and learned that George Eliot is the pen name of Mary Ann Evans, Victorian novelist!
I happen to love the Mother Teresa quotes as well as the one by Emily Dickenson. I am a Community Health RN Executive working in a federally qualified community health center. I mentioned to my son that I felt as if i should be doing more on the clinical lines to relieve the exhausted and he stopped me to say, ‘Mom, you have achieved a level of expertise in your area… the front line in the community, for a reason. Just think how much more impact you can have on maintaining prevention efforts and reducing the spread- something you can only do if you stay where you are at, educating, testing, and at some point, vaccinating”. It was a beautiful reminder that my role as a nurse is to make sure we 1) educate for prevention, 2) screen for early diagnosis, 3) provide access to our providers for excellent home care, and 4) vaccinate when the time comes. If we do our job well the numbers in hospital will go down. Thank you for sharing these quotes. I will pass them on to our team.
I like the quote, Nurses dispense comfort, compassion, and caring without a prescription. Beautifully said. Thank you
