Position Summary
Summary:
Works to limit the physiological and psychological effects of cardiac/pulmonary illness by provision of a safe, therapeutic, high quality program of exercise and education in an efficient, cost-effective manner. Actively promote primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular/pulmonary disease in patient population and community by education and example.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required
• Must complete in-house orientation program
• Successful completion of Registered Nurse Program. BS/BA preferred.
Experience And Skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Speaks, reads and writes English
• 2 years as registered nurse with experience in CCU, ICU, ER and/or telemetry unit.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition, risk factor modification strategies, counseling techniques, use and development of educational programs and materials.
• Evidence of arrhythmia recognition skills.
License/Certifications
•Current Registered Nurse License in state of NY, BLS, ACLS.

• Mechanical exercise equipment.
• Frequent standing/walking.
• Sitting in front of a computer for long periods of time.
• Must be able to respond in an expedient manner to patients codes in department.
• Able to assist patents on and off exercise equipment.
