General Summary: The Komen Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator is a registered nurse and board-certified in oncology. She meets the needs of breast cancer patients by serving as the liaison between theKomen-Community Assisted Mammogram Program (K-CAMP)participants and all other members of the health care team. The nurse navigator educates the participants and their support system such as family members and/or significant others. She works closely with the Komen Program Assistants to ensure pre-registration, appointments and reminder letters and phone calls are provided for the participant. She collaborates with physicians and other health professionals to ensure that follow-up and follow-through with quality of care and customer service is provided. She provides emotional and logistical support, and refers participants to breast cancer support and survivor groups and other supportive services as needed.The nurse navigator also ensures interpretation, translation, elder care and child care as necessary.  This is a short-term position for the duration of a grant from the Susan G. Komen For the Cure. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital. 

 

Minimum Requirements: Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse is required, Bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing is required, Master’s degree with a major in nursing is preferred,A minimum of four years of experience as a navigator is preferred, A minimum of two years experience working with oncology patients required, BLS certification is required,Basic computer skills, to include data entry and retrieval,  

 

Experienced bilingual candidates, who, in addition to English, are fluent in speaking, writing and interpreting Spanish, French, Portuguese or Mandarin Chinese are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Salary:$26.00 - $ 42.00
