The Occupational Health Nurse reports to the Corporate Director of Systems Integration and Health Employee Health and practices collaboratively with the Medical Director of employee health. The nurse practitioner’s primary role is to perform pre-placement and specialty physicals in addition to assessing, diagnosing and treating individuals for occupational illness or injury. The nurse practitioner integrates wellness and safety into EHS initiatives. The nurse practitioner is knowledgeable in OSHA standards and Workers’ Compensation laws. The nurse practitioner has a keen understanding of safety and haz/mat in a health care setting. The nurse practitioner is knowledgeable in emergency disaster plan that impact the well being of the employee. The nurse practitioner works collaboratively with the Infection Control service on possible outbreaks, clusters of contagious illnesses. Conducts annual occupation health risk assessment for the health care system. | |||||||||||||||
| Job Qualifications: | |||||||||||||||
Ability to read and communicate in the English language. Strong written/oral communication skills; ability to work under minimal supervision Licensed RN and certification as Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey required. Masters prepared and certified as an Adult or family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC. BLS required, ACLS preferred. One year experience in Occupational Health required.
