Job Details:

  • Under general supervision, provides consistency for rape and sexual assault examinations for victims. Provides comprehensive care to victims of sexual assault ages 13yrs old and older. This care includes the physical and psychological assessment crisis intervention, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, prevention of pregnancy and expert witness to court systems.

    Education

    Must have attended a specialized training program for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Adult/Adolescent.

    Experience

    Must have a minimum of two years of experience, preferably in Women's Health or Emergency Medicine.

    Skills

    • Interpersonal and verbal communication (oral and written) skills required in order to educate and comfort patients and their families, maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel, and maintain appropriate documentation records.
    • Phlebotomy
    • Excellent assessment skills.

    Licensures,  Certifications

            ·   Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as   a  registered nurse.

            ·   Completion of "Healthcare Provider" CPR course, yearly.

    • Prefer current FNE-A certification but will provide clinical training for RN who completed the didactic course withint he past 3 months or who is registered to attend an FNE-A course.
