Clinical Practice & Care Coordination- The Inova Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse and healthcare delivery team. Consistently providing safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care. All patient care and interactions are patient and family centered. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. | Job & Education Requirements: | ||||||||||||||||
Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience preferred.
Department Additional Experience/ Certification/ Education / Special Skills Preferred. Medical/Surgical:Previous medical/surgical nursing experience preferred. RNC certification in medical/surgical nursing desired. Participation in the medical/surgical nursing internship/fellowship desired for RNs entering medical/surgical nursing. Participation in the neuroscience nursing internship/fellowship desired for RNs entering neuroscience nursing. Participation in the orthopedic trauma nursing internship/fellowship desired for RNs entering orthopedic nursing. Pediatrics: Previous pediatric nursing experience pref. RNC certification in pediatric nursing desired. Participation in the general pediatric nursing internship/fellowship desired for nurses entering pediatric medical/surgical and adolescent nursing. Specialty certification desired. PALS certification desired for pediatric intensive care nursing. Participation in the pediatric intensive care nursing internship/fellowship desired for RNs entering pediatric intensive care nursing, RNC certification in pediatric oncology nursing desired for pediatric oncology nursing. Participation in the pediatric hematology/oncology nursing internship/fellowship desired for RNs entering pediatric oncology nursing. Home health:Previous home health nursing experience pref. One year of nursing experience required. Long Term Care:Prev. long term care experience pref.
