There is a regular full-time working 80 hours bi-weekly Nurse Manager position in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of Jefferson University Physicians. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational management and administration of those activities which promote the delivery of safe, efficient and therapeutically effective health care to an ambulatory population. This can be accomplished through the efficient planning, staffing, coordinating and evaluating of the day to day operations for the outpatient Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This will include Jefferson Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates (JOGA) and Women’s Medical Specialties (WMS) Under Administrative direction, plans, directs, develops policies and creates quality improvement functions. Responsibilities will include however are not limited to; Supervises and oversees training of nursing personnel involved in Department operations; Provides clinical expertise to staff, medical and nursing personnel and patients; Coordinates with Practice Managers to deliver outpatient services in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Ensures practice compliance with TJU / JUP policies, and all applicable regulatory agencies; Serves as the nursing management liaison for Obstetrics and Gynecology Department by attending necessary meetings as a representative of the Department; Develops and maintains scheduling procedures for staffing of nursing/ medical assistant personnel; Assists in formulating Department’s philosophy, culture, in addition to the establishment of standards of care and best practices matrices; Serves as a resource person, develops, interprets, supports and implements policies and procedures, responsible for planning, preparation, utilization and evaluation; Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Masters in Nursing, Public Health OR Business Administration preferred. Registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. Three years of experience in a nursing supervisory position required. Working knowledge in EMR ( ALLSCRIPTS ) preferred.
Must have knowledge/skills/experience as follows: Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan and evaluate outpatient Obstetrics and Gynecology care; Progressively responsible supervisory experience in an Obstetrics and Gynecology setting; Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care; Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, faculty, fellow employees, and the public; and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
