Founded in 1977, Capital Caring is one of the top 10 nonprofit hospices in the country today. In addition to our classic hospice services, we provide excellent care navigation, palliative care (pain and symptom management), and loss counseling to all those medically eligible, regardless of their ability to pay.
The Employee Health Nurse will play a key role in administering the health services program for employees of Capital Caring. They will promote health and safety to all employees through responsibilities that will include (but are not limited to) conducting new employee health screenings, maintaining employee health records, conducting immunization programs, promoting wellness initiatives, responding to employee injury or illness on the job, and preparing statistical reports. The Employee Health RN is a part time position (20 hours/week) but we will consider fulltime.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- VA RN license or eligibility
- BLS
- At least two years of nursing experience.
- Experience with Occupational Health and Worker's Compensation required with OSHA reporting experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office Products and analysis of claims reports.
The Employee Health Nurse will be responsible for:
- Performing pre-health assessments for new hires.
- Reviewing and following up on all work-related incidents.
- Maintaining Employee Health files, policies and working relationship with the Infection Control RN.
- Administering annual TB test programs according to hospital policy.
- Administering flu shots
- Other duties as assigned.
