Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Education Program Coordinator takes a leadership role in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education programs/projects for patients, personnel and the community across the health care continuum. He/she works on a peer level with Clinical Nurse Specialist and Service Line Managers. The Education Program Coordinator provides education that is consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, CSMC Code of Conduct, and Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan and professional organization standards. He/she is responsible for ensuring that staff maintain competency skills in areas of responsibility including the ability to interact with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; and provide appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation to patients with consideration of development milestones in the adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for providing education and assuring staff competency in provision of age related patient care across the health care system.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Current CA, RN license, current BCLS, with at least five years of teaching experience and proficiency in data management. Must be able to work flexible work schedule to provide educational activities as needed.
