Position Description
Our intensive care units provide nurses with a challenging work environment hat care help build new skills and hone existing ones. We are now hiring full-time ICU nurses for night shifts on the following units:
Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU - Keck Medical Center's CVTICU is a high-acuity department focusing on heart and lung transplants, open-heart procedures, aneurisms, CABGs, VADs and valve repairs and replacements.
Surgical Oncology ICU - This unit meets the specific surgical needs of Keck Medical Center's patients with cancer. Chemotherapy is not administered in this unit, but patients here undergo complex surgical procedures related to their oncology care.
Neuro ICU - Keck Medical Center's unparalleled Neurosurgical ICU achieves excellence in specialties such as neuro-science, otopharyngeal, (ENT) ear, nose and throat, and orthopedics. This is a fast-paced unit with a high number of admission and discharges.
Surgical ICU - Keck Medical Center's cohesive and family-oriented Surgical ICU provides expertise in bariatric, thoracic foregut, pulmonary, vascular, gastrointestinal, ortho/trauma and cystic fibrosis. We are a Bariatrics Center of Excellence.
Abdominal Transplant ICU - This unit cares for patients who have had a liver, kidney, pancreas and small bowel transplants.
**ICU Registered Nurses are also needed for areas such as the Cardio Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Esophageal Lab and GI/Endoscopy.
Position Requirements
- Registered Nurse License in California required
- 1 year minimum experience in surgical ICU required
- Critical Care Nursing Certification preferred but not required
- Basic Life Support for healthcare practitioners from the American Heart Association required
- Advance Cardiac Life Support card from the American Heart Association required
- Fire and Safety card must be presented upon hire or must be obtained at our facility within the first 90 days of hire and maintained by renewing before expiration date.
