Clinical Nurse(S186) - HC Health Center

General Summary: The Health Center Nurse uses the nursing process in collaboration with the Health Center Physician and/or Nurse Practitioner to assess, evaluate, educate, treat, and case manage adult Health Center patients in this primary care clinic for the uninsured at Montgomery College. Supports medical care as directed by the attending physician and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the hospital. Supervises and directs the activities of the non-professional nursing staff within the department. Implement programs as necessary to meet the needs of the patients in the community or making referrals to programs and resources as appropriate. Maintains high quality customer service standards. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors or Masters degree preferred. Current RN License by the Maryland State Board of Nursing, Current CPR according to HCH Policies required. Computer literacy required. Two years nursing experience wherein the individual must carry out the nursing process without a physician in attendance and be able to demonstrate autonomy in observing, assessing and planning correct course of action for the patient.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Bilingual preferred.  Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing. Must be able to bend at the waist, climb stairs and bend at the knees. Must be able to lift minimum of 15-20 lbs. Must be able to push pull and lift patients.  Must have visual accuracy and auditory acuity. Must be able to follow directions. Must be able to deal effectively with stress. RN duties and responsibilities may be shared with other PRN, PT, or FT RN positions.
