Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist - San Antonio, TX
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will collaborate with providers and nursing staff to ensure that the accurate and complete documentation is recorded in the medical record. Focus is on inpatients but also includes observation, and post-procedure recovery of patients. Continually reviews the documentation of the patients care and intervenes as appropriate to ensure complete and accurate documentation of a patient's care during their hospital stay.
Qualifications Required
? Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
? Must have know of DRGs and ICD 9 coding
? Must complete a Clinical Documentation Improvement Course within specified time of hire date
? Current RN Texas License
Preferred Qualifications
? Three years of recent hospital experience
? Work experience in documentation improvement, case management, utilization review
? BSN, Case Manager Certification (CCM or ANCC) is highly desirable
