| | Job Description: | The role of the registered nurse in the Bellevue Surgery Center will be a multifaceted and exciting challenge for the perioperative nurse. The Bellevue Surgery Center nurse will provide nursing care to the ambulatory patient in a newly constructed building which promotes efficiency and continuity of patient care. The position requires progressive competency in the preoperative, operating room, and post anesthesia phases of the patient/family experience. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. sing the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children’s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc. | | Requirements: | Required: - For all per diem jobs: requires at least one year of current PACU RN experience or one year of current OR RN
- ** Please note: These two positions are Per Diem and currentRN experience is required in one of the areas (Operating Room or PACU ) One Per Diem position is for the Operating Room and requires current OR experience. The second Per Diem position is for Recovery and requires current PACU experience.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current Washington State RN license.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required for specific departments. - Current BLS for Healthcare Providers. Current PALS certification will be accepted in lieu of the BLS either at time of hire or as an annual competency.
- Specialty certification in area of practice may be required for specific departments.
Preferred: - BSN
- Pediatric health care nursing experience.
- Pediatric acute care experience.
- IV Skills.
