Position Description In conjunction with the Head Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse, supervises and evaluates the clinical performance of the nursing staff. Collaborates with the Head Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse in the assessment and identification of educational needs related to clinical nursing and nursing management and in the development and implementation of plans which address those needs. Assists nursing staff with goal attainment relative to maximizing patient health, including a focus on prevention, rehabilitation, coping, death and dying. Demonstrates a high degree of professional competence through the application of scientific methods and advanced knowledge, skill and expertise in the field of nursing. Delivery of patient care is individualized relative to age/developmental, psycho-socio-cultural patient treatment needs. The Hospital Plan for Providing Nursing Care, together with the Standards of Operation, define the target populations for which services are anticipated and planned.
Masters degree as a Clinical Specialist in Nursing. Several years experience in clinical nursing and nursing education related activities required. Experience as a clinical specialist/educator preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Child Abuse and FBI background clearances required.
