Position Description :
Assumes 24-hour responsibility for provision of nursing and patient care services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in Surgical Nursing Unit. Serves as the Service Line Champion for Surgical Nursing Services and provides administrative leadership developing strategic plans and operating plans for the service line consistent with the DMH strategic plan. Develops and monitors progress of annual goals and objectives for the service line to ensure successful achievement of strategic priorities. Creates an accessible, integrated and accountable service delivery system that is designed to be continuous, comprehensive and cost effective to targeted service area populations and third party payors.
Skills
Must be a registered nurse licensed in the State of Illinois. A bachelors or masters degree is preferred. Should have a broad nursing background in the department’s specialties, as well as in management responsibilities.
