Responsibilities
A position is available in the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program for a Clinical Documentation Specialist. This individual will work closely with physicians and coding staff to assure documentation of discharge diagnosis (es) and any co-existing co-morbidities are complete reflection of the patient's clinical status and care.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Registered Nurse Required. Minimum of five (5) years experience in adult inpatient med-surg or critical care required. Prior Clinical Documentation Improvement or Case Management experience preferred. Inpatient coding knowledge helpful. Candidate should possess basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet utilization. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships necessary to educate physicians about documentation processes. Analytic skills necessary to clinically assess medical records and excellent prioritization and organizational skills are necessary.
