Clinical Educator/Clinician (S1871)

General Summary:

The Clinical Educator/Clinician provides clinical support to a defined patient population/area, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in the management of difficult and complex patient care issues. The clinician collaborates with other health care providers to manage, support, and coordinate the care of acute and critically ill patients. The clinician designs, implements, and evaluates both patient-specific and population-based programs of care. The clinician provides leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.

The clinician supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital. 

Minimum Requirements:

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing, or compact state, as a Registered Nurse. National certification in specialty (preferred on entry or within one year of hire). BLS and/or ACLS Instructor Status preferred.

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field. Teaching experience preferred. Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience. If hired in area with a substantially different clinical knowledge set, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise in the practice area within 6 months to a 1-year timeframe.  

Demonstrated skills at the level of an advanced practice nurse as evidenced by portfolio, recommendation letters, references, interview, and demonstration.

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Visual Acuity:The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Environmental Conditions:The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
