Incumbents in this position may perform all or a combination of the duties helping out in various areas including but not limited to: periodic front desk coverage, filing, faxing, answering phones, errands, and other projects as assigned. The volunteer in this role greets patients, visitors, family members and staff as well as assist patients with comforts needs and other non-nursing functions under the direction/supervision of the department manager. This person must be professional, reliable, mature, and flexible and customer service oriented to meet the needs of this busy department and will gain knowledge of and exposure to a hospital nursing unit.
