Position Specifications
Staff Nurse - Women & Infants Issaquah

This is a regular, hourly, 12 hour, night shift position, 0.9 FTE, 36 hours per week. This position is eligible for our full suite of employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, generous 401(k) plan, commuter programs, and continuing education assistance.

This position is being reserved for individuals who have been displaced due to departmental closures or restructures.  Employees who apply but have not been displaced will not be contacted about the position.  When that process is complete, if the position has not been filled, this message will be removed and regular recruitment will commence

Salary scale:  Scale begins at $26.97 per hour.  Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. 

Premiums: Evening - $2.75/hr, Night - $3.75/hr, Weekend - $4.00/hr
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  He or she is also responsible for delegation and supervision of personnel, as states above, that participate in the provision of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program.

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.  Current BLS Certification required. 

Current ACLS Certification required if working in the ICU, Telemetry, the Float Pool or Labor and Delivery.  Nurses who transfer to Labor and Delivery from another Swedish campus must obtain ACLS within 90 days of transfer. 

Current NRP Certification required if working in Labor and Delivery & Postpartum.  Current PALS Certification required if working in Pediatrics.

Experience acquired from Accredited Registered School of Nursing.

RN — L&D: Minimum of 2 years Labor & Delivery experience required, 4 years or more preferred.  Role will also cover Post Partum.

RN — PP: Minimum of 2 years Post Partum experience required, 4 years or more preferred.  Role will also cross train to cover 1 other area; L&D or Pediatrics—to be determined by manager based on skills & abilities.

RN — Peds: Minimum of 2 years Pediatrics experience required, 4 years or more preferred.  Role will also cover Post Partum.

RN — ICU: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required, 4 years or more preferred. 

RN — Float Pool — ICU: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required, 4 years or more preferred. 

RN — Float Pool — Med Surg: Minimum of 1 year Medical / Surgical experience required, 2 years or more preferred.  Role will also cover Post Partum.

Ability to operate, or learn to operate, unit-specific equipment as outlined in defined competencies.  Adequate knowledge to perform assessments, plan patient care, provide direct care, and educate and orient families and staff.  Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff.  Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English.  Ability to complete mathematical calculation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, equivalencies).  Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development stage of the patient.
