Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Job Number 20644). The ideal candidate will be able to provide oversight and provision of wound care for surgical patients.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a clinical expert for a specific patient population using advanced practice skills in a collaborative style in the management of patients throughout their continuum of care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Provides clinical leadership for multi-disciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address patient care issues across the continuum of care. As a clinical expert, incorporates current evidence-based knowledge in the implementation of cost effective quality care. Fosters a learning environment for patients, families, and members of the health care team. As an advanced practice nurse, demonstrates commitment to the accomplishment of organizational goals, the nursing profession and the community at large.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8-5

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) is required.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Four (4) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting that includes at least two (2) years of experience in an area of expertise are required.

    LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
  • Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • Must possess a current Advanced Practice Nurse License issued by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing.

    OTHER CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certification in a specialty area required: Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS) from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Clinical Nurse Specialist in Med/Surg Nursing (CNS in Med/Surg) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Clinical Specialist in Pediatrics (CNSP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON) and/or the Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCCN) preferred.
