PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Director of Group Practice is responsible for the evaluation and management of behavioral health services to patients and their families. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Provides for the assessment, treatment planning, and prescribing of medications of assigned patients and their families.
- Is responsible for the timely documentation of relevant information, contacts, and actions taken in the designated clinical record.
- Provides referrals to patients for other services within the ABBHH network, if appropriate, or to outside services as needed.
- Cooperates with appropriate outside referral sources and third party payors and completes required documentation in the specified time frame.
- Completes client registration and billing documents and works in cooperation with the Business Office to resolve any billing and collection issues.
- Communicates as necessary with other relevant systems that may interface with the patients therapy; these may include, but are not limited to, managed care, EAP’s, employers, schools and probation.
- Assist in the implementation and evaluation of Patient Satisfaction Surveys, Continuous Quality management activities and Outcome Studies.
- Participates in clinical supervision as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:(necessary to adequately perform the Job Functions) - Masters of Science in Nursing
- Current Valid and Unrestricted Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse/Certified Nurse Practitioner License
- At least 2 years psychiatric experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESincluding competencies that may be representative, but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. - Knowledge of Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Diagnostic Criteria
- Current Knowledge of Psychotropic Medications and Indications
WORK ENVIRONMENTenvironmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. - This position will provide services in both inpatient and outpatient settings including consultation on medical floors of an acute medical center.
