JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The employee in this senior management position will provide administrative oversight and direction to School Health Services programs for students who are enrolled in Montgomery County Public Schools. The work includes management, administration, and clinical oversight of School Health registered nurses and certified nursing assistants who provide direct health care to students. The Nurse Administrator will manage health programs and services which involve health staff and contribute to school health services as well as community wide health objectives. The employee is responsible for resolving complex clinical practice problems as well as personnel and union issues; developing policies and budgets; and, interfacing with local and state representatives, private and community health practitioners, and other agencies to assure delivery of school health services in accordance with federal, state, county requirements. Other major duties include participation in orientation, training and mentoring of new employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of progressively responsible nursing experience in organizational management or in a field related to school health services. Education: Graduation from a National League for Nursing accredited college or university or an equivalent program as determined by the Maryland Board of Examiners with a Bachelor's Degree in nursing. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
License: Per the Maryland COMAR School Health Services Standards, candidates must be currently licensed by the Maryland State Board of Nursing Examiners. **Documentation of licensure must be attached to your application materials.
