The Special Programs Coordinator is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the effectiveness of the Emergency Services special programs, including but not limited to accredited stroke program, chest pain center and trauma services which promotes safety and well-being of all patients within the system. The special programs coordinator has a strong clinical acumen in cardiac, stroke and trauma care including knowledge of program protocols that ensure facility integration of services in the care of the defined population for the purpose of maximizing positive healthcare outcomes. Builds and maintains strategic relationships. Manages conflict and competing imperatives. Builds customer loyalty among physicians, employees and community. Possesses requisite level of technical and professional knowledge in Nursing including exceptional leadership skills. Qualifications Requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care. The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required; as is the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work. Must be flexible with work scheduling. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits. Current RN License (TX) required. BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred. ATCN (within 1 year), TNCC & ENPC (within 6 months).
