The Education and Outreach Associate is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of educational and outreach programs and activities across the Institute#s core intellectual areas: Organizational Ethics, Moral Education and Development, and Civic & Global Ethics. The Education and Outreach Associate will work in collaboration with faculty, graduate students and undergraduates.
Applicants should have both 5 years or more teaching/mentoring experience with undergraduates and 5 years or more experience in academic program development, management and evaluation. Candidates must have experience in a highly collaborative environment. Candidates must have the demonstrated creativity and ability to turn ideas into programs in the context of education and outreach including basic knowledge of staffing and budgeting.
The Education and Outreach Associate is responsible for:
# The development of a coherent, actionable vision for education at the Institute o At the undergraduate level this includes: # Creating an intellectual home for undergraduates # Offering a broad array of curricular and co-curricular opportunities for undergraduates (film series, alternative spring break, pre-matriculation, summer engagement opportunities) # Developing and managing new programs including a FOCUS cluster, internship program, etc. # Serve as Director of the Ethics Certificate Program # Teaching when and where needed # Developing ad hoc ethics workshops and trainings # Supervising an Undergraduate Programs Coordinator. o At the graduate level this includes: o Creating an intellectual home for graduate students o Developing dissertation working groups o Developing a new professional MA program # The development of a coherent, actionable vision for outreach at the Institute including, in partnership with a new Research and Policy Associate, leading a strategic review process in this area.
Education
Master's degree or other advanced degree required. Ph.D. preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three years of related experience required.
