- Responsible for assessment and disposition of psychiatric emergency cases presented through the emergency department - Responsible for disposition of psychiatric cases if appropriate bed is unavailable at South Campus - Responsible for telephone assessments with referral sources for potential psychiatric services admissions presented through the emergency department - Consults with on-call psychiatrist for appropriateness of admissions and service availability - Interfaces and coordinates admission process with psychiatrist, units, utilization management and business office. - Responsible for precertification requirements with patients managed care company as needed. This Full-time position works evenings for Psych Admin in the Emergency Department. Qualifications - Current license as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina - CPR certified - Prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred
