Providence Health & Services-Alaska is seeking a talented and skilled RN for our Program Manager, Occupational Health position. In this role a successful candidate will oversees all PHSA region occupational health programs and assigned personnel. You will be performing nursing assessments and examinations of employees and provides occupational health nursing service for individual employees, groups of employees and prospective employees. Coordinates disability leave process and performs other responsibilities in order to promote a safe and healthy workforce.
Additional job duties include the following:
1. Oversees all occupational health programs for the PHSA region including supervision of LPNs and Medical Assistants. Ensures and maintains occupational health compliance according to Joint Commission standards.
2. Directs daily workflow for assigned area and manages compliance with annual budget. Participates in on-going Quality Improvement activities,
3. Responsible for screening, interviewing and hiring applicants & revisings job descriptions; conducting regular staff or team meetings, completes personnel evaluations on time, and offers assistance/counseling for job performance issues.
4. Performs physical assessments and screening tests, including medical history, tuberculosis screening, vision (color blind) screening, and arrangements for appropriate laboratory tests. Interprets and evaluates historical data, laboratory reports and screening tests to accurately determine current health status, vaccine needs, etc., in accordance with Employee Health policies and procedures.
The essential requirements for this position include the following:
Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Three years experience as a Registered Nurse in the area of Occupational Health.
Licensure/Certification: Certification in Occupational Health (COHN) required within one year of hire date. RN License in Alaska
