The Department Director is responsible for management of all departmental functions in support of the facility and corporate mission, vision, and goals. The Director identifies cost effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resources availability, and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationship with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. The Director identifies and remedies operational concerns while continuously searching for performance improvement in operations and standards of care. This is accomplished through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, or experience commensurate to the educational requirements of such degree; five years experience as staff registered nurse; three years experience in progressive management required. Masters of Science degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration of Business Administration desired.
REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Current R.N. licensure in the State of Georgia. Membership in appropriate professional organization. CPR certification (s) specific to the specialty. BLS within 30 days of hire.
OTHER REQUIRED SPECIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Sound knowledge base of nursing theory and practice. Possesses excellent communication skills. Demonstrates ability to learn diverse bodies of knowledge relating to departmental management.
