Job Details:
  • Summary: To assist the professional staff by participating in direct and indirect patient care and materials management and maintenance as directed by the professional staff and in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: No previous experience required. Special Skills: Qualifications may vary depending on assigned area. Must be able to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team, staff, and co-workers. Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) and assist in meeting the patient care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Supervision Expected: None Supervision Received: Direct and functional supervision from the Nurse, Clinical Shift Coordinator, Nurse Manager, Department Director, and/or designee. Working Conditions: Hospital and patient care environment. Requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and equipment. Exposure to communicable diseases, strains, cuts, slips, odors, blood products, feces, and other bodily fluids. OSHA: Bloodborne Pathogen Category I Employees in this job description are expected to have contact with bloodborne pathogens and as such they are required to be oriented and annually trained under the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration''s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (CFR 1910.1030)
