The Lead Custodian:
-Acting under supervision, assists supervisor in such duties as training new employees, inspections, inventories, ordering supplies, interviewing new applicants and scheduling assignments.
-Performs supervisory duties in absence of supervisor.
-Performs custodial duties including semi-skilled and skilled cleaning housekeeping and/or general maintenance.
-Ensures all necessary procedures for equipment are used in accordance with departmental safety policies.
-Responsible for assigned equipment, supplies, keys and related items.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 2 years previous janitorial or custodial experience in a healthcare or hospitality environment.
-Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
-Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
-Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
-Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate ideas for all levels of audiences.
-Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
-Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
