Schedule:Full Time (40 hrs/week)

Hours:7:30-6pm(varied)

  • Summary: To be responsible for the overall scheduling function of the operating room by receiving, processing and coordinating requests. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Experience: Two to three years OR Nursing experience. Medical terminology required. Computer and keyboard skills preferred. Special Skills: Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nursing License. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Ability to manage a changing work environment as a result of changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes. Proven interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills to effectively communicate (oral and written) during day-to-day, stressful, and emotionally changed situations. Demonstrated competence and sound professional judgement. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with health care team members. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Demonstrated ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve, make decisions, and respond quickly to meet patient care and departmental needs. Attentive to details and the ability to perform work accurately, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Supervision Expected: None Supervision Received: Supervisor of Surgical Scheduling. Working Conditions: Exposure to normal hospital environment. Considerable standing, talking, listening, walking, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying. Occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, and crouching, and taking and listening. OSHA: Bloodborne Pathogen Category III Employees in this job description are NEVER expected to have contact with bloodborne pathogens. Familiarization with the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration''s Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (CFR 1910.1030) is given during orientation and annually.
