Position Description
Assumes ultimate 24-hour responsibility for the care of patients on a nursing unit. Directs the nursing care provided to patients on a nursing unit. Supervises, evaluates, guides and counsels nursing staff in their work performance. Utilizes available staff to provide optimal delivery of nursing service. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice involved in providing nursing care; familiarity with organization and function of departments, policies, procedures and regulations; knowledge of principles of leadership and organizational and financial management. Delivery of patient care is individualized relative to age/developmental, psycho-socio-cultural patient treatment needs.

B.S.N. or equivalent experience, licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania and a minimum of 18 months clinical experience required. Previous managerial experience preferred.
