position summary

Assesses patient/family health problems and resources, takes a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for care particularly for victims of sexual assault.   Provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations.   Is responsible for upholding the forensic nursing scope of practice.

This position requires providing service to men and women over the age of 14 years in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support San Gabriel Valley Medical Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
                       

minimum qualifications

Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Three years of acute care nursing experience
Prior experience caring for victims of sexual assault preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish; English/Chinese) preferred

licenses/certifications

Current California RN License
Current BLS Card
Current certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
