As a private teaching facility we coordinate care with private OB/GYN, MFM Faculty, Resident Physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives.
Our Department has current positions available for Clinical Nurse IV, as an expert professional clinician and permanent Charge Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the expert application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. Consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes knowledge base and exemplary leadership and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others in the role of collegial consultant and resource person. Demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within Nursing at the unit, service line and institutional levels. The Clinical Nurse IV performs within the scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge of practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Nurse Practice Act.
Educational requirements and/or preferences:
Valid State of California License as a Registered Nurse required, BSN, Certified in Intravenous Therapy, ACLS, BCLS, NRP, NCC EFM and Inpatient Obstetrics.
Experience:
Obstetrical/ Neonatal /exp preferred, experience in L&D, including electronic medical record documentation.
Five (5) years experience in acute care setting which includes three (3) years in specialty and supervisory experience. Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned clinical nurse level and area. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area. Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues. Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
