Accurately documents vital signs and notifies RN immediately of any deviations from the norm in the appropriate patient population. Demonstrates appropriate use of Kardex. Performs/provides various forms of patient care as pertaining to hygiene (i.e. oral hygiene, bath, hair and nail care, back, skin, catheter, etc.)
Demonstrates correct collection and labeling procedures where applicable. Is able to identify patients at risk for skin breakdown and perform preventative care.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of higher education or equivalent preferred. One to three years of health related experience is also strongly preferred. Specialty training as an EKG tech, nurse's assistant, and/or medical assistant is desirable. Ability to demonstrate skills in CPR and FBAO within 90 days of assuming the position.
Technological knowledge includes electrocardiography, clerical skills, and medical terminology.
Fundamental mathematics along with the ability to effectively communicate in English and to follow English written and verbal instructions in order to accept directions from co-workers and speak with patients.
