The Infection Preventionist (IP) directs and coordinates the infection control program in the hospital. The designated person will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention and Control Program policies, coordinate all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitate ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/certification/registration: Current Registered Nurse in the State of Texas; Board Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
Experience Required: minimum five (5) years clinical nursing experience, preferred
Special Skills & Qualifications: previous experience in infection control practice preferred. Demonstrated experience in application of nursing and/or infection control. Must be able to function independently with minimum supervision. Knowledgeable and possesses the ability to work with PC based software programs. Knowledge of Microsoft applications, a plus.
