Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of the SICU. This includes ensuring the 24 hour safety and delivery of quality care to all patients on this unit. This role also requires a sound knowledge base of nursing and critical thinking skills.   
Ensures that lines of communication are consistently maintained in an open manner among the medical staff, Administration, employees, and other departmental leaders and staff.
Ensuring that management philosophy and decisions are implemented in the best interest of the hospital and in a supportive manner with a spirit of cooperation as perceived by physicians, staff, Administration, and other management.
Demonstrates a collaborative effort with team members, peers, superiors and subordinates at all times in order to identify and resolve institutional-wide issues in an effort to positively effect efficiency, productivity, quality of care and budgetary goals.
Monitors, analyzes and adheres to established department budgets and is able to explain and justify budget variances with substantiating documentation.
Promotes quality customer relations by identifying both internal and external customers; acknowledging customers promptly and using expressions that convey respect, understanding and enhance self-esteem.
Must be energetic, innovative, have strong communication, interpersonal, and physician repor skills.
Qualifications
BSN required; Master's degree highly desired. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Minimum of 5years nursing operational experience at management level required.
Registered Nurse in the state of Alabama.
