GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional service. Cares for the personal needs and comfort of patients as directed by the nurse.
PCT PRINCIPLE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides appropriate personal hygiene
- Consistently identifies & anticipates patient's needs & responds appropriately
- Provides care in a timely manner
- Demonstrates proper body mechanics
- Demonstrates proper use of patient transfer/transport movement devices
- Maintains patient privacy and safety
- Maintains confidentiality
- Uses chain of command appropriately
- Demonstrates respect to patient's, visitors, peers by tone of voice and demeanor
- Appropriately communicates change in patient condition to nurse
- Demonstrates competency in all assigned clinical tasks
- Demonstrates appropriate infection control procedures; i.e. hand washing, isolation
- Charges appropriately for supplies
- Treats equipment & devices with care
- Keeps halls and patient care areas clear of items
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent
FL State CNA license or completion of first semester of accredited Registered Nurse program
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Requirements
1 year of recent CNA experience working in an inpatient hospital or sub-acute facility setting.
