Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to patients of all ages presenting to the Emergency Room with real or potential emergency care needs, in support of and in collaboration with care directed by the medical staff. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering nursing care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Assists in planning, supervising, and instructing Licensed Practical Nurses, and E.D. Techs, thereby providing care to a number of patients. May be needed to work beyond the regular tour of duty or in another patient care unit as assigned by department head or nursing supervisor.
Qualifications
Current Florida RN License
Holds Current BLS card (American Heart Association)
ACLS certification within 6 months of employment (PALS if assigned to Pediatric E.D.)
Experience Preferred
Excellent physical assessment skills
Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition
Ability to perform effectively and independently within their scope of practice in fast paced, stressful environment
ENPC,TNCC preferred
CPI within 90 days of employment
