The Nursing Education Coordinator must demonstrate an ability to manage and assist the department in meeting the educational and clinical goals of the organization. The successful candidate must display knowledge of relevant educational content, including knowledge of teaching and learning theories, principles of adult education, testing, measurement and evaluation, plus the principles of evidence-based practice.
The successful candidate must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in the State of New York as well as a master’s degree in nursing or other health-related field. If the graduate degree is in a related discipline, the baccalaureate degree must be in nursing. Three to five years of nursing experience and a BLS is also required; certification in Perioperative Nursing is preferred. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and demonstrate a high level of computer skills. ACLS and NRP must be obtained within six months of hire date.
