| Description The Nurse Practitioner (NP) serves as a clinical expert and consultant within the Heart Failure Clinic. The NP will support the physicians of SLEH with the management of specified populations though independent and collaborative clinical management. The NP is a registered nurse with clinical experience in specialized nursing care of an adult population whom has completed an advanced master's level educational nursing program. Based on established protocols/guidelines the NP will collaborate with the attending physician(s) to provide a comprehensive health assessment including ordering laboratory and radiological tests medical diagnoses of acute and chronic illnesses write prescriptions and formulate a treatment plan with an emphasis on health promotion disease prevention and disease management. Additionally the NP promotes positive client health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling. Finally starts or continues treatment in cooperation with the physician. Qualifications BSN and MSN required. Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program. Certified to practice as NP by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Five years CV RN experience required. A-ANP |
