Position Description Director of Nursing for Maternal-Infant Services

The Director of Nursing for Maternal-Infant Services has 24-hour responsibility for the administration nursing care to patients, and the management of nursing personnel within the clinical departments which includes the Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers and the nursing staff for Antenatal, Labor and Delivery (L&D), the Fetal Center, the Infant Intensive Care Unit (IICU), the Well Baby/Maternal/Infant and related Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) floors. They report to an Associate Chief Nursing Officer.
Requirements:
- A State of Pennsylvania Registered Nurse's (RN) license, or immediate eligibility.
- A Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
- At least 5 years of related clinical experience including at least 3 years of direct people management experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). Director level experience managing managers - is preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in the relevant areas. Clinical experience in Maternal/Infant is preferred.
- Expertise with the professional nursing practice and theory, demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, and knowledge of the principles of learning and methods of teaching.
- Budgetary management skills and excellent interpersonal relationships, collaboration and communication skills.
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal relations required.
Exempt, salaried, Monday-Friday position with shared administrative leadership call.
