Position Description The Head Nurse is responsible for managing and coordinating treatment and clinic areas. Duties include coordination of patient care, scheduling of clinical staff, ensuring quality patient care, and promoting staff growth and development. Delivery of patient care is individualized relative to age/developmental, psycho-socio-cultural patient treatment needs.
Education and Experience
RN licensed in Pennsylvania. Bachelor of Science from an accredited School of Nursing preferred. Oncology Nurse certification preferred. Several years of Oncology, Solid Organ Transplantation, Bone Marrow Transplantation, or AIDS nursing experience required. Previous supervisory or administrative experience preferred. Registered Nurse with a current, valid Pennsylvania nursing license. Demonstrated knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate patient services to adult and geriatric patients. Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge of the principle of growth and development over the human life span. Basic computer skills required.
