Job Description:
Job Summary: Responsible for triaging incoming calls to the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) After Hours Answering Service from patients, caregivers, or other health care providers. Triage RN assesses the patients needs and provides appropriate clinical options through the guidance of the triage protocols which may include education regarding immediate care advice and preventative behavior. Patient calls to the After Hours Answering Service are documented using a telephone encounter in Epic, the electronic medical record. Assistance is also provided to the RN Clinical Facilitator as needed.
Experience: Minimum of five years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care. Seven or more years of clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care is preferred.
Education: Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licensure: Current registered nurse licensure by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing is required.
