Under the general direction of the Women's Heart Program Director and the Program Coordinator, the staff nurse provides outpatient group education, community outreach, screenings and assessments as part of the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute (HHVI) Cardiac Wellness Program. Participates in patient care activities within the HHVI. Collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians and other members of the health care team in the delivery of healthcare services. Participate in research and grant writing activities. Demonstrates leadership/management skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth. Position requires working at off-site facilities.

Qualifications
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as an RN. Patient and family teaching experience desirable. Previous cardiac rehabilitation and/or risk reduction counseling experience preferred. Previous experience in stress testing preferred.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. Current BCLS. ACLS desired.
Skills: Knowledge of complex arrhythmias; ST segment analysis; stress testing; assessment of cardiovascular status, basis of cardiovascular conditioning and thorough knowledge of cardiac pharmacology and medication delivery. Must be an effective teacher with a good understanding of wellness issues and the ability to incorporate health concepts in the delivery of health programs. Must possess strong computer skills.
