Job Description

Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner - ANP/FNP are:

  • Providing comprehensive care to patients requiring both acute and chronic medical management
  • Collecting and assessing patient data through history gathering interviews and focused physical examinations to formulate appropriate patient centered plan of care
  • Implementing a plan of care utilizing appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments
  • Conducting follow-up examinations to monitor and evaluate the plan of care
  • Providing patient/family education and/or counseling and evaluates the outcomes of care using the clinical skills and judgments inherent in nurse practitioner education and practice
  • Working in collaboration with physicians and other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate
  • Acting as a consultant to colleagues and health care team members in the area(s) of clinical expertise
  • Serving as a resource for the staff and other health care providers
  • Demonstrating ability to function independently in the outpatient setting
  • Maintaining and updating clinical knowledge and actively seeks opportunities to broaden clinical expertise
  • Participating as a member of the health care team to develop policies, clinical protocols and evaluation tools
  • Adhering to system and department compliance policies, and any applicable laws and regulations
Required Skills
  • Valid Massachusetts Physician Assistant licensure or Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license with certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Familiarity with ambulatory medical care
  • Experience with Internal Medicine
  • Experience as FNP/ANP
